About Us.

We are IMFAB, the Indigenous Maori Fashion Apparel Board.
IMFAB is an online fashion design competition for rangatahi (youth) aged 14-18 in the wider Auckland region. Ten winners will be selected to open the Miromoda runway showcase at New Zealand Fashion Week on August 26th and 28th.
Entrants have up until the 10th August to design, create and construct 'one look', photograph it, then submit it online via the entry form which can be found under the 'entry form' tab in the menu. This link will take you to the entry form where you will upload your design. You will also have the opportunity to tell us a bit more about yourself and your design.
We are looking for designs that reflect your individual uniqueness, think designs that have special meaning to you, your fashion statement, or designs that are inspired by culture, sport, the environment, sustainability, futuristic, science, anything you can think of! Please check out our FAQ page for more guidelines.
Our logo is based on a traditional comb (heru) often placed in the hair and considers the head the most sacred part of the body. A heru is worn to be purposely visible.
We believe the overall look is strong, young, uplifting and inclusive of cultures and gender bias. We believe in confidence, standing in your individual uniqueness and having trust, faith in belief in your own talents and value. So the best of luck, you've got this!
